It’s Opening Day!!

The pizza has been crushed, the OV’s have been downed and the teams have been picked.  Tonight marks the official beginning to the 2018 WNHL season.  There are a lot of questions that will be answered throughout the season.  Who will rise above the crowd to become King Street Cup Champions?  Will Dougie get so high that he’ll forget he’s the ref and bury a couple real quick?  Will Gav be arrested for sexual assault at some point in the year?  Only time will tell.

Tonight we see the veteran GM’s face off in Welland.  The Atlas Steelers looking to make their third straight championship appearance, while the Stelcobras look to not be a disaster for once.  The Townline Tunnelers and Crown Room Kings will christen the new ice and introduce the new Pelham arena to the WNHL!

Fuck boys, the summer is over and now the fun begins.

Keep your stick on the ice.

2018 Draft Preview

Tonight we find ourselves on the eve of the third annual WNHL draft. This year will see two new GM’s take the helm of the ship and try to navigate the rocky seas of the WNHL in an effort to capture the prestigious King Street Cup. Rookie GM, Craig Laro, will kick things off with the first overall draft pick. Who will he take with the first overall pick? Will he pick fellow Burns Boy Alum Allan Cockell or will he just pick Jay Thom? Mabye he’ll want a proven winner like Scotty “Two Times” MacLeod or Chris “Back to Back” Woods? Who the fuck knows? Only one way to find out, show up at the Rex for 7pm, crush some of the finest pizza in Welland, and a couple dozen OV’s.

Following Laro’s pick we will see Matt Sajn, the veteran GM of the Welland Stelcobra’s make the second pick. Sajn who has seen nothing but failure in his time as a GM is looking to turn his managerial career around now that Laro won’t be picking half his team. Sajn who is great at naming teams, has not seen that same greatness translate onto the ice, could this year be different? Who the fuck knows? Only one way to find out, show up at the Rex for 7pm, crush some of the finest pizza in Welland, and a couple dozen OV’s.

The Atlas Steelers will pick third with veteran GM Gav Sardella. The team has appeared in the King Street Cup game both years, coming out with a 1 and 1 record. I wonder what changes were made to the Steelers that would have made the difference in the championship? Will the Steelers solve the mystery? Who the fuck knows? Only one way to find out, show up at the Rex for 7pm, crush some of the finest pizza in Welland, and a couple dozen OV’s.

Rounding out the draft will be rookie GM but WNHL veteran Eryn Warden and the Crown Room Kings. Warden brings the fire both on the ice and on his head, but will that fire translate to the front office? Who the fuck knows? Only one way to find out, show up at the Rex for 7pm, crush some of the finest pizza in Welland, and a couple dozen OV’s.

To sum it all up it’s like Sarah McLaughlin said “we’re building a fucking mystery here boys”, and the answers can only be found in one place.
